Day 7: Rest

Well, not much rest. I planned my rest day to land on the night I teach taekwondo so I didn't have to squeeze in a workout afterwards. I still got a good sweat going night practicing forms.

Well, it's the end of week one. I feel good about myself. The weight loss was not as much as I hoped. Okay, not nearly as much as I hoped but I actually feel tighter all around. I couldn't believe that I ran 4 miles yesterday and didn't feel tired at the end. I think I made a lot of good progress this week and it's something to build on.

On to the results and the pictures. These pics look more like I'm documenting my pregnancy than my fitness. Looks like I'm late into my 2nd trimester right now.

Final weight: 193.4 lbs.
Weight lost this week: 1.4 lbs.

  1. Jeremy,

You're doing great. Keep it up. First week is the hardest, your body is changing internally. The second week is when you'll drop more weight typically, mostly water. Incidentaly (sp?) you can speed up the water loss by drinking more water.

After around 4-5 weeks, you want to make sure you're not dropping more than say 2-3lbs per week. Much more than that, and it's possible your body is in a catabolic state and burning muscle mass for energy.

    Good luck!

  2. Hey Jer! I just wanted to tell you that I am on the Kenpo stage tonight....I was just wondering if you are following the diet to a T?
    Just curious :)
I love reading what to expect from your blog, so keep it up!

  3. Thanks guys! I've been hitting the water throughout the day now. I'm hoping to see some better results in the coming week.

Christen, I do not follow the diet to a T. I always ate pretty well. My enemies were soda (diet), beer, liquor, cookies and occasionally baked chips. I'm trying to limit beer/liquor to Friday/Saturday and I've cut out cookies so far.

  4. SSS, it's Seamonkey, and yeah, I'm doing this too! If MY old arse can keep going then you'd better not stop!
I'll share pics with you later.
PS, Kenpo was much more fun than running! :)

Later dood, keep up the good work bro!
